Tips on Finding the Best Tahiti Beaches for Your Special Holiday

Tahiti is one of the most popular choices for a great holiday, because anywhere you go, you will not be far from a beach. You can do just about anything you want, as most beaches are suitable for diving, snorkeling or fishing, so whatever you're looking for in a beach, you are sure to find it in Tahiti.

There are numerous public beaches, but also private beaches, depending on your preferences and financial possibilities. If you would like to spend your time on a private beach with few or no people, you could choose one of the hotels or resorts offering access to a private beach and other facilities.

If you would settle for a public beach, there are many beautiful beaches you can choose from, and it is not hard at all to reach them. If you want to visit some of the lovely beaches Tahiti has to offer, you could get a map, rent a car or even a scooter and start right away. The locals are very friendly and they'll point you in the right direction, so you won't have to worry about getting lost.

One of the most famous beaches in Tahiti is the Lafayette beach, located on the less crowded Eastern coast of Tahiti and facing the Matavi Bay. Lafayette is one of the best black sand beaches in Tahiti, hosting the lovely Radisson Plaza resort.

Another great beach is the Papeno beach, located in the North coast, is again a black sand beach. Since you will find more turbulent waters here, it is a beach preferred by many surfers, so if you're not into surfing you should be careful when visiting it.

There are also white sand beaches in Tahiti; one of the greatest is the Plage de Toaroto, situated on the western coast, near the Meridien hotel. It is a great beach for snorkeling, because the water is rather shallow and marine life is abundant here.

The beach offers many opportunities to have fun, and there is also a great restaurant located right on the beach, called Le Carre. The restaurant offers a magnificent view and very tasty food, and the wooden deck makes the whole experience marvelous.

The Pirae beach is situated on the eastern coast, it is a black sand beach and it is located near the Royal Tahitian Hotel, so if you don't really want to travel extensively from your hotel to the beach, you could get accommodation there.
